How to Apply Online
Private candidates can complete their application online through the official portal. Follow these steps carefully to submit your application:
Direct Link: Official Exam Information Center Login
- Visit the Department of Examinations website (doenets.lk) and select the Exam Information Center under “Our Services”, or go directly to the application portal.
- Enter your Full Name, National Identity Card (NIC) number, and an active private mobile number.
- An OTP (One-Time Password) will be sent to your mobile phone via SMS. Use this OTP to log in.
- Read all the provided instructions and watch the instructional video before proceeding.
- Enter your full name twice, ensuring it matches your birth certificate exactly.
- Select your correct examination town, subjects, and preferred medium.
- Pay the required examination fee online (via credit/debit card) or through a Post Office, then download your completed application PDF.
Important Instructions & Requirements
Make sure to keep the following rules and guidelines in mind to prevent your application from being rejected:

- One Application Only: Each candidate must submit only one application. Submitting multiple forms may lead to rejection and potential legal action.
- Do Not Mail the Application: After submitting online, download and print a copy of the PDF for your records. Do not send this printed application to the Department of Examinations.
- Provide Private Details: Use your permanent private home address and a personal mobile number that will remain accessible to you. Do not use a government school address.
- Fees are Non-Refundable: The examination fee cannot be refunded or transferred to another exam under any circumstances.
- No Center Changes: The examination town and center cannot be changed once the application has been successfully submitted.
- Identity Verification: You must prove your identity at the exam hall using the exact same document used in your application (NIC, Valid Passport, or Valid Driving Licence).
- Special Needs Candidates: If you require accommodations, select “Yes” under the special-needs section of the form and fill out the requested details.
Critical Warning: Government school students are strictly prohibited from applying as private candidates. Violating this rule may result in your application being invalidated and a ban from future examinations.
