The government has started providing financial assistance of Rs. 25,000.
The Secretary to the Ministry of Finance had stated that the government has decided to provide financial assistance of Rs. 25,000 for the cleaning of houses damaged by the current disaster.
Accordingly, the relevant amount has been provided under the patronage of Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya, and it is stated that more than 100 families who have been able to resettle in flood-affected areas of the Thimbirigasyaya Divisional Secretariat have been provided with financial assistance of Rs. 25,000 for cleaning their houses.
