Wayamba University Vacancies 2026 – Technical Officer Grade II

1. Three passes at the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination in one sitting from one of the following streams:
   • Biological Science Stream
   • Physical Science Stream
   • Technology Stream
2. Applicants must have completed a relevant skill-oriented formal training programme of at least one year full-time duration or an equivalent qualification.
3. The acceptability of the training programme will be determined by the relevant faculty.

Salary will be paid according to the applicable Management Services and University Grants Commission circulars.

•  The initial appointment will be as a Trainee Technical Officer for a period of three years.
•  Confirmation will depend on satisfactory performance and competence in laboratory techniques, inventory maintenance and English typing.
•  A practical or oral test may be conducted before permanent appointment.
•  The training period may be extended by one additional year if the required competence has not been achieved.
